A Mitel Case Study
Mount Pleasant Area School District in Pennsylvania, which serves six facilities with more than 250 handsets, faced nearly a year of serious voice-communications problems after a replacement phone system failed to meet basic school needs. Issues included calls bypassing classrooms, nonworking message lights, failed hunt-group rollovers, and unreliable emergency alerts — problems the original vendor could not adequately fix.
ASCC replaced the troubled system with Mitel’s IP communications platform, upgrading analog and digital phones to a single, redundant IP system. The migration (mid-May to end of June) delivered immediate improvements — clearer “HD” call quality, no phone downtime, reliable emergency and call-routing features — and stronger vendor support, resolving the district’s prior operational and safety concerns.
