Case Study: PayPal achieves unified collaboration and reduced data silos with Microsoft Power Apps

A Microsoft Power Apps Case Study

Preview of the PayPal Case Study

PayPal enhances employee collaboration and reduces data silos with Microsoft Teams

PayPal, a global financial-technology leader operating in more than 200 markets, faced fragmented communications, data silos, and limited international collaboration from a mix of on‑premises and cloud tools; a 2018 survey found only 39% of employees felt their tools met needs and conferencing was a particular pain point. To unify communications and improve productivity, PayPal standardized on Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams, integrated Power BI into meetings for shared visuals, and plans to leverage Microsoft Power Apps to streamline program creation and channel provisioning.

PayPal’s change‑management led rollout of Teams (with integrated Power BI) delivered fast adoption and measurable gains: 66% of employees were early adopters, IT contact rate was only 0.4% in the first week, meetings have been shortened (many now scheduled for 30 minutes), and employees save roughly 30 minutes a day finding files. PayPal is now building a custom app with Microsoft Power Apps to auto‑generate Teams channels and tabs for new programs, further reducing friction and standardizing collaboration across the company.
