Case Study: PayPal achieves unified collaboration and reduced data silos with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the PayPal Case Study

PayPal enhances employee collaboration and reduces data silos with Microsoft Teams

PayPal, the global fintech with 10,000+ employees, faced fragmented communications and limited international collaboration from a mix of on‑premises and cloud tools — only 39% of employees felt their tools met their needs. To unify communication and improve data discoverability, PayPal standardized on Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams and integrated Microsoft Power BI visualizations into meetings.

PayPal implemented Teams with a comprehensive change‑management program (on‑demand videos, immersion challenges, role‑specific support) and added Microsoft Power BI tabs so meeting attendees could view and update standardized visuals directly from connected Excel files. The rollout achieved 66% early adoption, a 0.4% IT contact rate in the first week, shorter and more productive meetings (many reduced to 30 minutes), an estimated 30–60 minutes saved per employee per day searching for files, and stronger global collaboration and security.
