Case Study: British American Tobacco achieves cloud transformation and GBP 10 million savings with Microsoft Corporation

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the British American Tobacco Case Study

Cloud transformation of British American Tobacco

British American Tobacco, a large consumer goods company in Russia, needed to modernize its global IT environment to cut costs, improve service availability, and expand self-service for employees. Working with Microsoft Corporation, it launched a two-year cloud transformation using Microsoft cloud technologies, including Office 365 and Windows 10, to replace older collaboration, mail, and device-management tools.

Microsoft Corporation helped implement the EPIC program by migrating users to Outlook, Exchange, Skype for Business, OneDrive for Business, Office 365 ProPlus, and Windows 10, while enabling BYOD and mobile device management. The results included migration of about 3,000 users, a Windows 10 rollout for 1,000 field staff in one day, 90% of employees migrated within three hours, and estimated total savings of GBP 10 million through lower infrastructure and licensing costs, better productivity, and less reliance on third-party technologies.
