British American Tobacco Russia, a large consumer goods company, sought to reduce IT costs, optimize its IT department, and increase service availability for its users. To address this challenge, they partnered with Microsoft to implement a large-scale, two-year cloud transformation project based on Microsoft Office 365 and other cloud solutions.

The Microsoft solution involved migrating from legacy systems to a modern cloud environment, which included deploying Windows 10, Office 365 ProPlus, and OneDrive for Business. A key tactic was using "champions" to facilitate adoption. The results were significant, with the global project generating an estimated GBP 10 million in savings from infrastructure changes and improved employee performance, while also enabling greater user self-service and mobility.
