A Microsoft Azure Case Study
Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University wanted to make analytics and machine learning more accessible to MBA students so future business leaders could learn to make data-driven decisions. Using Microsoft Azure Machine Learning as part of the Microsoft Cortana Analytics Suite, the school aimed to overcome the complexity and coding demands of traditional statistics software and give students a more practical, real-world learning experience.
Microsoft Azure implemented a drag-and-drop, sample-driven analytics environment that let students focus on solving business problems instead of writing code. Since fall 2014, about 250 students in the Customer Analytics class have used the platform, helping them quickly explore predictive analytics, customer targeting, churn reduction, and personalized offerings, while also enabling them to publish models as web services without extra coding.
