Swisscom, one of Switzerland’s largest telecom providers, needed to maintain its customer service experience while simplifying its network and reducing costs. Faced with vendor end-of-life notifications for existing fixed and mobile IN services, Swisscom also wanted faster service innovation and to avoid expensive service chaining between its fixed and mobile networks. Metaswitch provided the converged service delivery platform used to decouple services from underlying network technologies.

Metaswitch implemented a Converged Service Delivery Platform featuring Rhino TAS and Rhino SIS (converged service broker) to unify service delivery across fixed, mobile, IMS, and PSTN environments. The solution recreated legacy EOL services, including language-aware services, and enabled new converged services without duplicating platforms. Swisscom reported significantly lower CapEx than competing alternatives, substantial OpEx savings, and retirement of EOL platforms in under 18 months.
