CBL Group (Ceylon Biscuits Limited), one of Sri Lanka’s largest FMCG conglomerates with over 6,000 employees, needed to upgrade its employee development for middle and senior management. The company wanted to move away from offline, manager-only (90-degree) feedback toward an online, standardized, multi-rater approach that would produce credible, data-driven insights aligned to its competency framework. To achieve this, CBL Group engaged Mercer Mettl and its 360 View platform.
Mercer Mettl implemented and customized the 360 View survey to CBL’s competencies, with psychometric-backed questions, multi-rater competency ratings, open-ended feedback, behavioral profiling and tailored individual development plans. The solution made development planning more scientific and actionable—assessments increased by more than four times, custom surveys were aligned to core values, competency gaps and training needs were identified for each individual, and IDPs were generated to build a future-ready workforce. Mercer Mettl’s platform enabled CBL Group to adopt a holistic, data-rich approach to employee development.
