A Mercer Mettl Case Study
Leading Tyre Manufacturing Company, a global tyre maker with 69 facilities in 18 countries and a growing presence in India, had invested heavily in employee training but struggled to measure ROI and objectively evaluate proficiency—particularly for long-tenured staff and lower-proficiency factory workers across six competency verticals. To address this, they engaged Mercer Mettl, leveraging custom behavioral assessments and virtual tools such as the Mettl Personality Profiler, role-plays, case studies and blended Assessment Centers.
Mercer Mettl built a competency framework via focused group discussions and interviews, then ran five blended Assessment Centers across three Indian locations to assess around 100 employees from sales, marketing, R&D and plant engineering. The Mercer Mettl solution produced a detailed report on performance against the six competencies, delivered individual development plans, and enabled the company to quantify training ROI and move from subjective ratings to data-driven talent decisions—resulting in targeted investments in the right people and accelerated development programs.
