Multinational Beverage Corporation - Customer Case Study

Multinational Beverage Corporation, a New York–headquartered F&B leader with a country-wide presence in India and a salesforce of over 5,000 frontline associates, needed a rapid, scalable way to identify high-potential (HiPo) sales talent across remote locations. The company faced constraints of time, travel, language diversity and the pandemic-era limit on on-site assessment, and partnered with Mercer Mettl to run a large-scale HiPo identification initiative using an online assessment approach.

Mercer Mettl implemented a fully virtual assessment center—customized to the client’s competency framework and delivered with multi-lingual support—combining cognitive tests, situational judgment, simulations and analytics to objectively evaluate potential at scale. The solution enabled the client to onboard top-performing frontline hires (previously on third-party payroll), with 95% of those onboarded performing outstandingly in their new roles, while also surfacing skill gaps, driving development plans, increasing engagement and allowing the company to scale the program to managerial roles and other regions.
