The All India Management Association (AIMA), organiser of the national Management Aptitude Test (MAT), faced a sudden challenge when COVID-19 lockdowns threatened to delay its high‑stakes, nationwide exam. Mercer Mettl implemented a double‑layer proctoring solution (AI monitoring plus human invigilation), browser lockdown, a scalable cloud platform with low‑bandwidth support, and dedicated operational support and customization. The result: Mercer Mettl enabled 35,000+ candidates to take MAT online without major glitches, delivered a reported 98% cheating‑detection rate, and helped increase participation from a 37% offline rate to 45% in the remote format — with the May exam held on schedule and greater uptake from tier‑3 and tier‑4 cities.
