Case Study: India Multi-National Company achieves scientific high-potential identification and robust succession planning with Mercer Mettl

A Mercer Mettl Case Study

Preview of the India Multi-National Company Case Study

Identifying people capability across the organization and selecting high performers

India Multi-National Company, a leading manufacturer of air coolers with operations in over 60 countries, faced a lack of scientific mechanisms to identify high-potential talent, training needs, and a succession pipeline—its talent management was largely performance-driven and awareness of potential assessment was low. The company engaged Mercer Mettl to help map competencies and identify high performers across functions and levels.

Mercer Mettl conducted a systematic competency-mapping exercise using visionary interviews, department- and role-wise FGDs, and assessment batteries (personality, behavioural and cognitive tools), and delivered individual reports with Individual Development Plans plus group analytics. As a result, the organization achieved higher stakeholder buy-in for potential assessment, gained a reliable and valid objective assessment to complement performance reviews, established 9-box grids by department, and set benchmarks for future hiring.
