Case Study: Telkom Indonesia achieves a future-ready workforce with Mercer Mettl

A Mercer Mettl Case Study

Preview of the Telkom Indonesia Case Study

How Telkom led its employees on the path of digital transformation

Telkom Indonesia, a state-owned ICT and telecommunications group undergoing a major digital transformation, needed to rapidly decide which roles to hire for and which to develop internally while scaling hiring and upskilling across the organization. Facing a new portfolio of digital connectivity, platform and services roles, Telkom required a secure, remote and standards-based way to translate its competency framework into actionable assessments for more than 10,000 employees. Mercer Mettl was engaged to provide digital readiness and domain assessment services and a remote proctoring platform to meet these challenges.

Mercer Mettl delivered a two-part solution: organization-wide digital readiness assessments (digital potential and digital proficiency) and customized domain/technical assessments for 75+ new-age roles, supported by remote proctoring. The outcome: Mercer Mettl profiled over 10,000 employees, assessed 75+ skills and competencies, enabled Telkom Indonesia to determine build‑vs‑buy talent decisions, identify individual skill gaps, and create targeted development plans — helping Telkom build a future-ready workforce.
