How Mercer | Mettl empowered one of the world’s largest e-commerce players to promote diversity and gender equality in its hiring practices

Leading E-commerce Company sought to run a large-scale, pan-India virtual campus hiring event to onboard more women in tech, but needed a scalable, GDPR-compliant platform that could accurately assess coding skills, manage thousands of registrations, support collaboration, and ensure secure proctoring. To meet these requirements it partnered with Mercer Mettl, leveraging their Hackathon & Ideation platform, coding simulators (Codelysis), assessment library and proctoring services.

Mercer Mettl implemented a white‑labeled, single‑dashboard hackathon solution with configurable multi-stage workflows, a 100,000+ item technical question bank, auto‑grading and detailed reports, AI proctoring (facial recognition, 3‑point authentication, secure browser) and expert campaign support timed to International Women’s Day. The event attracted about 6,500 women from tier‑1 institutes, digitized and de‑biased the hiring pipeline, sped up shortlisting and interviews, and enabled the Leading E-commerce Company to identify and hire top female tech talent at scale.
