Hiring an Associate Director in finance vertical with critical competency requirments

North America Investing Company, a global investment firm with 7,600 employees across 26 countries, needed to hire an Associate Director in the finance vertical but struggled to identify the right leadership talent and cultural fit using its existing assessment process. The firm engaged Mercer Mettl to deliver an assessment solution that could evaluate theoretical knowledge, hands‑on skills and behavioral competencies.

Mercer Mettl implemented a tailored suite combining the Mettl Domain Assessment Battery, Personality Tools, Behavioral assessments, customized functional content, and Situation Judgement Questions and caselets; six key competencies were defined with behavioral indicators for the role. As a result, the company hired two critical resources, reduced interviewer time through Mettl‑recommended benchmarks, and established competency benchmarks for future leadership hiring.
