Biscuiteers, a premium gift-biscuit business known for beautifully packaged, talk-worthy products, wanted to turn delighted customers into scalable brand advocates to raise awareness and grow sales with minimal financial risk. They chose Mention Me for a referral programme and were advised to focus on AB testing and a unique word-of-mouth approach (recognising the “open the biscuit tin” moment) before wider promotion.
The solution combined 20 AB tests, UX refinements and multi-channel promotion (email, name-share, Facebook and offline word of mouth), plus contests to drive engagement. Results: sharing rose 60%, purchase rate doubled, the “share by name” channel drove 38%+ of referral-acquired customers, the preferred offer (20% off) doubled new customers versus a £6-off test, and ROI was 5:1 (rising to 8:1 when including repeat spend), contributing to a 34% YOY increase in new customers.
