Siemens Automatically Validates Global Address Data with Melissa

Siemens AG, a global technology group based in Berlin and Munich, needed to standardize and validate customer and supplier address data across many countries to reduce costly manual corrections and delays. After using various local providers, Siemens selected vendor Melissa in 2015 to provide a single, compliant solution capable of handling diverse country-specific address formats and protecting data via secure, private-cloud processing.

Melissa implemented Address Verification, Geocoding, Address Autocomplete, Phone Verification and Email Verification via a dedicated web service integrated into Siemens’ central master data management system and other applications. The solution enabled real-time validation, an address auto-complete for users, a traffic-light quality dashboard, and high stability — processing over 500 million queries for 174 countries and delivering an automation rate of more than 90% while meeting service-level and data-protection requirements.
