A Melissa Case Study
Project Open Hand, an Atlanta non-profit that prepares, packages and delivers more than five million meals and hand-delivers roughly 4,000 meals a day, needed to update, validate and cleanse its client database (about 200 client addresses processed monthly) to ensure correct scheduling and delivery. To meet this need, the organization turned to Melissa Data’s Data Quality Web Service (DQWS) to validate and standardize client information at the point of entry.
Melissa’s DQWS validates addresses in real time (or in batch), catches data-entry errors, and appends latitude/longitude ranges so Project Open Hand can pinpoint locations and plan efficient routes. As a result, the nonprofit improved database accuracy, reduced the risk of delivery errors, and gained precise location data to optimize scheduling and delivery of thousands of meals daily.
