MetaBank, through its Meta Payment Systems division, faced a massive identity and data-quality challenge: it ingests up to 30 million customer records daily from hundreds of prepaid card issuers with varying formats and incomplete addresses, which caused duplicate mailings, inaccurate queries, and made fraud detection difficult. To solve this, MetaBank turned to Melissa and its Data Quality Suite to validate, standardize, and enrich incoming names, addresses, phones, and emails in real time.
Melissa’s Data Quality Suite was integrated with MetaBank’s Microsoft SQL Server to cleanse, verify, geocode, deduplicate, and append missing data (using components like Personator, MatchUp, and SmartMover). The result is a 360-degree customer view that has virtually eliminated fraud false positives, reduced duplicate communications, improved customer service and upsell insights, and helped MetaBank meet Know Your Customer requirements while normalizing millions of daily records.
