Frito-Lay, the $10 billion convenient foods division of PepsiCo, needed to improve delivery accuracy and routing efficiency to ensure products reached the correct locations. To solve this, Frito-Lay partnered with Melissa and deployed the GeoCoder add-on to MAILERS+4 to verify, standardize and append ZIP+4–level latitude/longitude and related census/FIPS data to customer addresses.
Melissa’s GeoCoder data was integrated with Frito-Lay’s Roadnet routing tool to plot precise coordinates, optimize routes and find the closest dealer locations; as a result Frito-Lay increased the rate of accurate deliveries by 80 percent, gained reliable lat/longs for mapping, and improved overall delivery efficiency.
