Equipment Data Associates (EDA), a Charlotte-based provider of equipment-focused market intelligence for industries such as construction and agriculture, faced pervasive duplicate records that undermined data accuracy and wasted resources. To solve this, EDA adopted Melissa’s MatchUp deduplication solution, using both the desktop GUI and the 64-bit MatchUp API.

Melissa’s MatchUp was integrated for batch and point-of-entry deduplication, processing 10–50 million records per hour. The implementation eliminated hundreds of man-hours per month, identified roughly 10% more duplicates in EDA’s three-million-record file than previous tools, keeps the database virtually free of duplicates, and enabled customers to upload and compare data for new lead generation—reducing labor and production costs.
