EDA Gives Clients a Competitive Edge via Deduplication Tool

EDA (Equipment Data Associates) provides equipment-based market intelligence to more than 4,000 clients and maintains a database of over three million records. Battling duplicate records from spelling variants, abbreviations and multiple government sources threatened data accuracy and operational efficiency, so EDA turned to Melissa’s MatchUp deduplication tool to address the problem.

Melissa’s MatchUp, deployed as both a desktop GUI and a 64‑bit API for batch and point-of-entry matching, automated deduplication at scale (processing 10–50 million records per hour). The solution saved hundreds of man-hours per month, identified roughly 10% more duplicates than prior software, cut printing/production waste, prevented new duplicate additions, and enabled customers to upload and compare lists to uncover new leads—delivering a single, accurate customer view and measurable operational gains.
