The Pennsylvania Department of Banking, which regulates state-chartered banks and licenses thousands of lenders and investment professionals, faced mounting challenges processing hundreds of license applications while preventing fraud and improving consumer outreach. To ensure accurate, timely licensing and reduce delays from bad contact information, the department turned to Melissa and deployed Melissa’s Data Quality Suite to validate and standardize applicant data.
Melissa implemented its multi‑tool Data Quality Suite—address (USPS CASS Certified), phone, email, and name verification—to clean and enrich records before they entered DOB systems. As a result, data is consistently formatted, undeliverable mail and related costs/waste have decreased, outreach mailings reach constituents more reliably, and the department’s ability to detect and flag fraudulent or inaccurate applications has significantly improved.
