Retail VR Develops Immersive Brand and Shopping Experiences with Matterport Digital Twins

Retail VR helps brands and retailers create immersive virtual showrooms, retail staging, and shopper experiences, but it faced the challenge of delivering online shopping journeys that felt as realistic and engaging as in-person visits. Using Matterport digital twins and Matterport Pro2 3D cameras, Retail VR enabled luxury fashion, packaged goods, and home care clients to showcase products and retail spaces remotely.

With Matterport, Retail VR built photorealistic 3D showroom and shelf-display experiences, integrated product catalogs and multimedia, and supported virtual merchandising and shopper studies. The impact was significant: traffic to one packaged food manufacturer’s virtual showroom increased 10x, shopper studies became 2x faster and 5x cheaper, retail strategy meetings were reduced from five to one, and one luxury showroom helped save 1,200 tons of carbon emissions.
