RemSense Creates Virtual Plants for Better Training, Inspection, and Hazard Analysis at Industrial Sites

RemSense, an industrial technology company in Perth, Australia, needed a better way to support remote training, inspections, measurements, and hazard analysis across large industrial sites. As a Matterport Platform Partner, it used Matterport APIs, SDKs, and digital twin technology to power its own Virtual Plant platform for energy plants, mines, factories, and other facilities.

Matterport helped RemSense build immersive 3D virtual plants that let users navigate sites remotely, access manuals and training materials, and capture precise measurements without traveling onsite. The solution also improved asset recognition and data tagging; one facility yielded 540,000 text strings for validation and geotagging. RemSense reported more than 100% annual growth since 2018, and the Matterport-based platform now supports faster inspections, better inventory accuracy, and safer remote hazard analysis.
