Metsä Board Cuts Costs and Manages Construction and Maintenance Projects Faster with Matterport

Metsä Board, a Finnish manufacturing company, needed a faster, more efficient way to initiate construction and maintenance projects while reducing travel and project-related costs at its Husum mill in Sweden. To support this challenge, the company worked with AFRY and used Matterport technology, including the MatterPak Bundle and Matterport Pro2 cameras, to create a virtual twin of the mill and its equipment.

Using Matterport, Metsä Board was able to manage projects remotely, share accurate digital scans with suppliers, and add Mattertags for better communication and planning. The result was a 50 percent reduction in travel costs and time — and nearly 100 percent savings in early project stages — along with more accurate measurements, fewer errors, and faster project initiation.
