Arup Moves Projects Forward Using Virtual Collaboration in 3D Spaces

Arup, the global engineering and consulting firm, has long relied on research-led design to support construction and refurbishment projects. To improve documentation, modeling, and collaboration, Arup adopted Matterport 3D models to better capture as-built conditions and construction progress, while also helping teams and clients understand spaces more effectively.

Using Matterport, Arup streamlined site surveys, annotated and shared punch lists through the Matterport Cloud, and reduced the need for 10–15 people to attend in person. The approach also improved BIM workflows and enabled earlier issue detection, while 3D walkthroughs helped tenants and employees prepare for occupancy and operations before opening day.
