Redstone Federal Credit Union, a Huntsville-based credit union with nearly 370,000 members and more than $3.5 billion in assets, faced a marketing challenge: a lean nine-person marketing team (one dedicated to email) was stuck on an outdated, code-heavy email system and had no way to capture or respond to website visitor interest. To grow membership and wallet share, RFCU needed an automated solution that could trigger timely nurture streams, segment audiences, and support a content-driven strategy without heavy technical overhead.

RFCU selected Marketo for its ease of use and robust automation, launching outbound campaigns, landing pages and nurture streams to capture and engage prospects. In the first months they ran a cross-sell checking campaign and content landing pages—sending to 140,000 contacts, generating 2,400 content downloads and 5,500 new or upgraded accounts—and reached one-quarter of their annual online account-conversion goal in just seven weeks. The success prompted RFCU to expand into mortgage and new-member nurturing campaigns.
