A March Networks Case Study
Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools, a Minnesota school district, was using a video surveillance system that proved unreliable. Their main challenge was the unacceptable downtime of up to ten days whenever a hard drive failed, as the entire recorder had to be shipped back to the manufacturer for service. This lack of reliability and inability to perform simple repairs in-house prompted the district to seek a new solution.
The district switched to March Networks, implementing its 8000 Series Hybrid NVRs, IP cameras, and Command Enterprise software. This solution provided centralized management for their widespread campuses and allowed for easy, on-site hard drive replacement, drastically reducing downtime. The result was a highly reliable system that helps staff address incidents, provides evidence to parents and police, and documents child custody exchanges, all while significantly reducing the total cost of ownership for the district.
