A March Networks Case Study
The City of Las Cruces faced a challenge with the proliferation of disparate, standalone video surveillance systems across its municipal departments, creating a significant maintenance burden for its IT staff. The city needed to standardize on a single, intuitive, and highly reliable solution to create a unified city-wide system. They worked with vendor March Networks and their technology provider to implement a solution based on March Networks Command Recording Server software and a range of March Networks IP cameras.
The implemented solution centralized video storage on a commercial-grade server, streaming footage from numerous facilities back to City Hall using the existing network infrastructure. The city achieved its goals of enhanced reliability, high-quality video, and a system that is easy for dozens of users across various departments to operate. The March Networks system has proven extremely reliable and scalable, allowing the city to efficiently grow its surveillance capabilities as needed, with plans to expand to additional facilities and leverage future mobile and analytic features.
