City & Guilds, the UK’s leading awarding body, wanted a more cost-effective telecoms service and a long-term partner to help move toward a fully integrated unified communications (UC) environment. Maintel was chosen to help consolidate four incumbent suppliers and make better use of existing infrastructure.

Maintel implemented a single managed service covering mobility, IP telephony, audio/video conferencing, calls and lines, and support, alongside an upgrade of City & Guilds’ IP telephony network to Mitel Communications Director software. The result was standardised telephony, hot-desking and global directory access for staff, plus major cost reductions of 33% on the fixed voice estate and 41% on the mobile estate.
