Enabling secure mobility and enhancing the customer experience

York College, one of the largest providers of A-Level and vocational programmes in North Yorkshire, needed to improve campus connectivity for its 13,000 students. With legacy infrastructure limiting access to applications and teaching aids for both staff and students, the college faced a poorer student experience and risks to teaching quality, student recruitment, and funding. Maintel helped address these constraints with a secure mobility and cloud-managed networking approach.

Maintel worked with York College and Cisco to design and deliver a campus-wide Wi‑Fi solution using Cisco and Meraki cloud management. The project included design, configuration, commissioning, and ongoing support, giving the college better visibility and control over users across campus. As a result, York College gained improved connectivity, stronger support for educational goals, and a more enriched learning experience, with further collaboration planned through an upgraded unified communications platform.
