Case Study: Age UK achieves 70% mobile cost savings with Maintel

Design and implementation of a new mobile platform

Age UK, the UK’s largest charity supporting people in later life, needed to modernize its mobile setup for around 600 remote and field-based workers. Working with Maintel, the charity sought a more capable and cost-effective mobile platform to replace legacy BlackBerry phones that no longer supported tasks like editing documents on the move.

Maintel designed and implemented a new mobile platform using Microsoft Lumia 640 smartphones, after auditing requirements and trialing devices and operating systems. The rollout was completed across all users in a two-week window with a seamless four-hour switchover, helping Age UK cut mobile costs by 70% per year and improve workforce mobility and productivity.
