Building and deployment of a Mitel VoIP platform

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) needed to replace its ageing Ericsson telephony system, which was no longer supported and posed a risk during the highly competitive four-day clearing period. UCLan also wanted to explore the benefits of newer technology, so it engaged Maintel to help deliver a VoIP-based replacement, including a virtual contact centre.

Maintel deployed a Mitel VoIP clustered solution to provide a more resilient and flexible communications platform, along with a 200-person virtual contact centre for clearing. The result was zero calls lost during clearing, improved resilience, easier remote working and hot desking, faster setup for moves and changes, and better fault diagnosis across more than 4,000 connected devices.
