Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH), the global creative advertising agency, needed to replace its end-of-life Index telephony system after Avaya withdrew support, creating a serious business continuity risk. The company required a robust, cost-effective replacement that could support soft phones and mobile clients on staff’s own devices, work with Macs and Google Mail, and keep operations running during the transition. Maintel was brought in to identify and deliver the right solution.

Maintel implemented Avaya Aura Communication Manager, integrating it with BBH’s Google environment using ESMA middleware to support Mac-based soft phones and mobile UC. The new platform provided scalable telephony for more than 1,000 users, improved productivity through Presence, and delivered significant cost savings, especially for roaming staff using Wi-Fi calling. The result was a future-proof system with stronger business continuity and a clear path for rollout to other UK and international sites.
