A Mailchimp Case Study
Essence partnered with Mailchimp to help Food to Live get more value from its email marketing channel. The challenge was to grow revenue from a relatively small list of about 2,500 subscribers and turn four monthly campaigns into a more effective, scalable email program.
Mailchimp was used to support a rebuilt email strategy that included refreshed campaign templates, behavioral flows like welcome and abandoned cart emails, list growth tactics, A/B testing, and custom coupon-code automation through webhooks and a Node.js app. The results were dramatic: email revenue grew from about $1,800 in February 2016 to more than $21,000 by May 2018, a 1076% increase, while the subscriber list expanded from around 2,500 to over 23,000, an 863% boost.
