Little Green Dot, the eco-lifestyle blog run by Militza Maury and Ciaran Lyons, wanted to deepen engagement with readers and grow its email list, but a surprise surge in signups for its email course, *How to Become a Morning Person*, quickly created a challenge. What began as a goal to add 1,000 new subscribers escalated into a far larger audience than expected, putting pressure on the team to manage communications at scale.
Using Mailchimp’s automation features, drag-and-drop email editor, responsive templates, RSS-to-Email, and some custom API work, Little Green Dot built automated signup, pre-launch, wait-list, and opt-out flows to deliver the course smoothly. Mailchimp helped the team send the first course session to more than 26,000 readers and a second to 10,000 more, while the main email list subscriber count doubled since January.
