Wing on Wo, the oldest family-owned store in New York's Chinatown, faced a pivotal challenge: the potential closure of its historic business due to elder care demands, threatening its legacy and role as a community hub. Fifth-generation owner Mei Lum sought to not only preserve the store but also amplify its mission to foster an inclusive future and resist cultural displacement in the neighborhood.
