OldTimeCandy.com, an online retailer of retro candy and gift packages, worked with Mailchimp and Gauge Interactive to strengthen customer relationships after launching a new Magento-powered website. Their challenge was to move beyond one-off transactions and build a smarter email approach that could engage first-time buyers, gather feedback, and encourage repeat purchases.
Using Mailchimp automation, Gauge Interactive implemented a 2-part welcome series, feedback emails for new site features, birthday offers, and abandoned cart emails with dynamic discount codes. The results were strong: the welcome series open rates were twice as high as OldTimeCandy.com’s other emails, and abandoned cart email click rates were twice the list average. Mailchimp automation helped the brand deliver more relevant, timely messages while improving both customer experience and revenue opportunities.
