xMatters needed a better way to support customers using its cloud-based solutions with online Help. As the company moved from Adobe FrameMaker and Microsoft Word to web-first documentation, it wanted a single-source approach that could publish both online Help and PDF content, while also creating a modern, responsive site that fit the xMatters brand.

xMatters chose MadCap Software’s MadCap Flare to manage topic-based authoring, conditional text, tables of contents, CSS, and HTML5 top navigation. The team used Flare to migrate thousands of pages of content, publish responsive Help for desktop, mobile, and tablet users, and add multimedia elements such as graphics and videos. Cameron Stewart said updates could be republished quickly, and that once information is in Flare, it can be published instantly.
