UC San Diego Extension - Customer Case Study

UC San Diego Extension needed a modern authoring tool that students could use throughout the entire “Writing Online Documentation” course, rather than a dated system based on 1990s architecture with only a 30-day trial. The program also wanted a more intuitive way to teach topic-based authoring and help students learn on their own.

MadCap Software provided MadCap Flare through the MadCap Scholar licensing program, giving UC San Diego Extension course-length licensing, a modern interface, and access to support, tutorials, and the user community. Since 2011, Flare has helped students work through nine weeks of assignments, and the course later became required for the Technical Communications Certificate.
