Thinking Windows Delivers Mobile Web Help in Less Than 30 Days with MadCap Flare

Thinking Windows, a leading provider of billing software for Australian water authorities, needed a faster way to publish Help in multiple formats, extend Web Help to mobile field users, reduce duplicated documentation for customers, and add video demonstrations of software features. It used MadCap Software’s MadCap Flare and MadCap Mimic to support single-sourcing and online documentation.

With MadCap Software’s Flare, Thinking Windows produced a mobile version of Web Help in under 30 days, with an initial version completed in two weeks and the final version less than two weeks later. The company said the platform-independent output worked immediately on the GPS device, and that topic reuse improved efficiency and raised documentation quality dramatically. MadCap Mimic was also used to create software simulation movies, and one customer’s nineteen-page document was reduced to three pages by linking back to online Help.
