A MadCap Software Case Study
RWTH Aachen University, a higher education institution in Germany, needed a better way to customize exercise materials for different student groups in its Mechanics 2 course. The university had been using Microsoft Word, but creating separate exercises led to a great deal of redundancy and made it difficult to track the latest figures and tasks.
Using MadCap Software’s MadCap Flare, RWTH Aachen University moved to topic-based authoring and single-source publishing to manage exercise content in one project, use conditional tags for customized versions, and integrate with Microsoft Team Foundation Server for source control. The university said MadCap Software helped it ensure the latest versions were used, shorten the learning curve with WYSIWYG and XML views, and get everything up and running within two months.
