Microsoft Healthcare Systems Group used MadCap Software’s MadCap Flare to improve how it developed and delivered print and online documentation for Amalga UIS 2009. The team needed to streamline content development, add source-control integration, and make it easier to update API SDK content for partners while managing multiple customer versions and SKUs.

With MadCap Software, Microsoft Healthcare Systems Group adopted single sourcing, variables, conditional text, snippets, and native XML content management. The team built 11 online and print documentation outputs in two days, and also used Flare to create CHM files, PDF manuals, and Web Help for the launch. According to Harold Gross, the documentation team also developed its source-control integration in four weeks and planned to extend Flare across the broader HSG organization.
