Globally Recognized University of Applied Sciences Uses MadCap Flare to Teach Online Documentation Best Practices

Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, the largest university of applied sciences in Baden-Württemberg, wanted a hands-on way to teach modern online documentation and structured content. In 2009, Professor Sissi Closs looked for an authoring tool that would support XML and help students learn best practices for technical communications, and chose MadCap Software’s MadCap Flare.

MadCap Software’s MadCap Flare gave students an intuitive, native XML environment for learning documentation concepts from day one. In the Winter 2009-2010 semester, 44 students used it to study XML, structure, and content versus layout, then apply those ideas in online documentation projects, with the simple interface helping them get up and running quickly.
