Case Study: Blackbaud Collaborates, Customizes, and Publishes Help Content with MadCap Flare

A MadCap Software Case Study

Preview of the Blackbaud Case Study

Blackbaud - Customer Case Study

Blackbaud, a software company serving nonprofits and education organizations, needed a better way to modernize its online Help and print documentation. The team wanted to reuse content across different user guides, support print, web, and mobile output, customize the look and feel, and keep content updates synchronized while working collaboratively internally and with clients.

Blackbaud used MadCap Software’s MadCap Flare native XML authoring tool to single-source content, reuse topics through global linking, and publish from the same project to web Help, mobile Help, PDF, and Word. The company also used TFS integration to track versions and support collaboration, and runtime merging plus automated batch publishing to update Help on a daily basis. Blackbaud reported that it maintains about 35 standalone Flare projects, with four or five child projects created from each parent project.
