A MadCap Software Case Study
basys Inc, a provider of software and services for administering more than 1,500 benefit plans in the United States and Canada, wanted to modernize its documentation as it rewrote its Unix-based software as Web-based applications using Microsoft .NET and Visual Studio. The company needed a Web-focused authoring tool that could improve efficiency, quality control, and integration with its development environment, and it replaced Adobe RoboHelp with MadCap Software’s MadCap Flare.
Using MadCap Software’s Flare, basys Inc moved from PDF documentation to Web-based content delivery and used single-sourcing, reusable snippets, and conditional tags to streamline maintenance. basys said some updates that once took hours now take minutes, and some changes can be made in seconds across the entire project; the company also reported better quality control and a more intuitive help experience for customers.
