Avaloq, a Zurich-based financial services software company, needed to replace a legacy DITA-based authoring system and CMS that was slow, hard to maintain, and cumbersome for producing and updating thousands of PDF documents. The company also wanted a modern HTML5 Help site that would make documentation easier to navigate and better aligned with its brand.

Avaloq implemented MadCap Software’s MadCap Flare and MadCap Contributor to support topic-based, single-source publishing, Git-based version control, and SME collaboration. The team also built a custom migration tool, ST42Flare, to move more than 5,000 PDF documents into Flare, processing over 100,000 modules and 50,000 images. With MadCap Software, Avaloq now delivers searchable HTML5 online Help plus supporting PDFs, with conditional output, faster updates, and a more intuitive user experience.
