ASCON, the St. Petersburg-based engineering and design software company, needed a better way to deliver documentation and online Help across print and multiple digital channels while reusing content more efficiently. For its new products, the company also wanted a more modern Help experience and a way to support continuous delivery without involving developers in Help automation.

ASCON chose MadCap Software’s MadCap Flare to create single-source, topic-based content for HTML5 Help, CHM, and PDF output. The company said importing existing CHM files into Flare took just a few hours to configure, and MadCap Software’s support helped it integrate Help builds into its continuous integration process; ASCON now stores Flare files in Mercurial SCM, reuses content across similar applications, and keeps documentation synchronized with software updates.
