Actuarial Resources Corporation, a nationally recognized actuarial software and consulting firm serving insurance institutions, needed a faster way to maintain documentation for its CASE platform and legacy ARCVAL system. Its old process for assembling ARCVAL PDFs could take 40 to 60 hours, and monthly product updates made the existing approach difficult to sustain.

To address this, ARC used MadCap Software’s MadCap Flare single-source XML authoring tool to centralize content, reuse topics across online Help and PDF guides, and support collaboration through Microsoft TFS and Word import. With MadCap Software, ARC now builds the CASE online Help and five PDF files in about 1 hour, and it reduced ARCVAL documentation build time from 40 to 60 hours to about an hour while supporting context-sensitive Help for more than 700 screens.
